CFE International is looking for spectacular bloggers, not professional chefs to compete in their First Annual “Saltfish Blogger Recipe Challenge.” The challenge date has been set, the pans will be banging and the stakes will be high to see who becomes the Grand Prize Winner of their First Annual CFE International “Saltfish Blogger Recipe Challenge.”

Take the challenge and share your creativity using one of CFE International’s saltfish brands (Cristobal, Buena Ventura, Isla Brisa and BacalaRico) where there are no rules, only originality and the pursuit of great taste!

The CFE International Saltfish Blogger Recipe Challenge will only be open to the first 50 eligible bloggers who sign-up. Categories for the challenge include entrees (no side dishes), and appetizers. Bloggers are encouraged to participate in both categories. One Grand Prize Winner will be selected and be awarded $1,000.00usd. The contest starts on March 1, 2017 and ends April 30, 2017. What’s the challenge and what do I win?

One Grand Prize Winner: $1,000.00usd

Five blogger recipes will be chosen by CFE International and produced into recipe videos for judging. CFE International will then post each recipe video on their Facebook page to be judged by CFE International’s Facebook fans to select the $1,000.00usd Grand Prize Winner of the CFE International “Saltfish Blogger Recipe Challenge.” CFE International will select the five blogger recipes based upon the following criteria:

• Taste: 50%

Does this recipe taste great with every bite? Would you want to make this recipe over and over again based on taste alone? Does it contain interesting, yet gratifying flavor combinations?

• Visual Appeal: 25%

Does the recipe show well on a plate? Do your eyes make you want to eat this recipe before you even smell or taste it?

• Creativity: 25%

Does your recipe show originality? Is this recipe reflective of unique twists to ingredient usage? Have you incorporated your personal touch to this recipe?

THE CFE INTERNATIONAL SALTFISH BLOGGER RECIPE CHALLENGE CONTEST RULES

We’re looking for downright fabulous “BLOGGERS,” not professional chefs who maintain a food blog. Only the first 50 qualified applicants will be accepted. How can you qualify?

To take the challenge, participants can submit an entry form to contest@cfeboston.com starting on March 1, 2017. To qualify for The CFE International Saltfish Blogger Recipe Challenge you must be:

  • Must be 21 years old or older at time of entry
  • Must be a legal U.S. resident - Void in Alaska, Hawaii and where prohibited
  • Must be a legal resident of the islands of Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago and U.S. Virgin Islands
  • Void where prohibited
  • Food blog must be updated frequently (at least once per week) and has been in existence for at least 6 months
  • RECIPE MUST BE ORIGINAL
  • Applicants cannot be a professional chef
  • NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

Recipe Details

Qualified applicants will be sent 3 free bags of their choice of a CFE International saltfish brand to create their original recipes. Your recipes must be easy to recreate, taste delicious, and of course, be original and inventive.

Only recipes using CFE International’s Cristobal, Buena Ventura, Isla Brisa and BacalaRico saltfish brands will be considered.

How to Submit Your Recipes

Final recipes along with a picture of CFE International saltfish branded (bag) product must be publicly posted on your blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram to qualify. CFE International social media links must be included when posting your recipes on your blog to qualify. All bloggers must tag CFE International on all of their social media platforms. Bloggers must use the hashtags #saltfish, #bacalao and the hashtag of the CFE International branded product for example, #Cristobal or #BacalaRico etc., when posting on each of your social media platforms. Bloggers will also have to post CFE International’s store locations on their blog. Store locations will be provided by CFE International. When compiling the list of ingredients for your recipes, it must state, the CFE International branded product used when creating your recipe. Please email your original recipe to contest@cfeboston.com, including a photo (Jpeg) of your finished recipes, along with links to your published recipes by the contest deadline. Applicants are responsible for complying with all rules of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

We highly encourage you to share your recipes on any and all forms of social media including, but not limited to: Foodgawker, Yummly, Tastespotting, Tumblr, YouTube, Google+, etc. Please send links to sites where you have shared your recipes to contest@cfeboston.com.
